Since its inception, Mamby On The Beach has created a unique and inclusive environment for lovers of all musical avenues to explore and experience together. Held on the sandswept Oakwood Beach with jaw-dropping views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline, the two-day festival has effectively cemented itself as a sunny refuge for creatives and thrill-seeking individuals to celebrate the city’s beauty and musical talents.
As Mamby returns for its third edition, we invite attendees to discover our roster of Chicago-bred artists who will be performing throughout the weekend. Representing the house and techno realms will be historic techno trailblazer GREEN VELVET celebrating 25 years of his Chicago-founded label Relief Records! Alongside him, Hot Creations’ LEE FOSS will throw down his sexy beats in the Mixmag Tent, along with the house and juke duo FANCY FUX. The iconic INDIE-PENDENT DJ dance party squad will also throw down the ultimate beachside vibes on the Mamby Main Stage both Saturday and Sunday.
Hip hop heads are invited to experience a series of groundbreaking movements at this year’s lakefront romp, as the festival hosts a diverse roster of Chicago local rappers, vocalists and producers throughout the weekend. Representing the city atop the Mamby stages will be connoisseur of jazz-inspired rhythms SABA, fresh off his newest Bucket List album, intimate R&B crooner RAVYN LENAE and her fresh Midnight Moonlight EP, along with towering production powerhouse ODD COUPLE from the Chicago hip hop factory Closed Sessions Records. Alongside them, the sandy grounds will be rocked by the melancholy serenades of BJ THE CHICAGO KID, the soaring gospel ballads of Bronzeville native SIR THE BAPTIST, and the laidback reggae stylings of DJ PAPA G. For your weekend dose of soul, Mamby is also proud to host the WINDY CITY SOUL CLUB, known for its nostalgic and swing-centered take on the most treasured soul hits of all time.
In addition to Mamby’s leading acts, fans will be be given the chance to witness the day-long madness of the Silent Disco, featuring a wealth of local talent from all ends of the spectrum. Rounding out the experience will be a very special feature by Louder Than Bomb, hosting live spoken word performances from Young Chicago Authors members. YCA’s cause is to galvanize civically-engaged and culturally-literate citizens, deliver tools for young people to craft and share their stories, invigorate educational spaces, and create pathways for emerging artists. For the very first time, these inclusive ideas will be brought to the Mamby stage.
