Mamby is way more than just music. There are a whole bunch of fun activities to explore, from beach volleyball, yoga sessions, a braid bar, henna tattoos, tarot card & palm readings, and a massive water balloon fight! We’re happy to announce four more activities joining the list for 2018:
The Vibrant Dome will be hosting gong baths, a renowned form of vibrational therapy and homeopathic healing for hundreds of years. Let the sounds permeate your body down to its molecular structure. We invite attendees to take a seat, surrender to the sound, and find an inner peace you didn’t expect to locate at a festival. Gabrielle Manuel, an experienced Reiki master and teacher of vibrational healing therapy, will lead the sessions through the use of tuning forks and sound bowls, as well as Doc Pearson, a mixed multimedia artist with vast experience in sound design and sound therapy. Here’s your chance to learn more about the less visible, yet vital, parts of human consciousness.
In the Doggy Dome, you will get to meet and socialize with the fine foster dogs of One Tail At A Time (OTAT), a no-kill, all-breed dog rescue servicing the greater Chicago area. Since 2008, OTAT has rescued more than 2,000 dogs, run vaccine clinics for low-income families, and keeps dogs out of the city shelter by running Chicago’s only shelter diversion program. Mamby attendees can get to know a variety of dogs each day and apply to take them home! That’s right, you actually run a very high chance of meeting your next best friend at a music festival – who would have thought?
We’ll also be rolling out a shop from Gentleman’s 312 Barber Lounge, where you can get a fresh cut and shave, and sharpen your festival look with a full service barber shop! In addition to our Braid Bar, now you can get properly lined up and looking your best without missing any of the action. Oh and did we mention, it’s FREE? Just bring a tip to say thank you to your barber.
Lastly, if you’re finding yourself lost at the festival… or in life… you should stop by our complimentary Advice Booth Presented by Mondo Jumbo – staffed by comedians Alexa Schlosser, Ben Cumings, Cole Earnest, Brigid Neary, Katie Heath, Sean Tiffin, Tobias Childs, Derry MacDermott, and Lilly Reed. If none of our other experiences are centering you, our crack team of experts will set you straight with blunt observations and insightful suggestions of varying usefulness! You’re welcome!
