[WATCH] See Common’s Supergroup August Greene Perform “Black Kennedy” on Seth Meyers

Earlier this spring, Common joined forces with pianist/producer Robert Glasper and drummer/producer Karriem Riggins to release their first album as August Greene, combining their collective soulful, hip hop-minded sounds for a pristine, harmonious live experience. Riggins and Glasper kick it off with a jazzy instrumental swell before Common’s silky smooth and always-mindful flow kicks in, bringing us “Black Kennedy,” a track Common says “is a way of saying we move and operate in black excellence … For many people, the Kennedy family symbolizes royalty and represents power, style, and influence. I thought if I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna do it in a black way.”

Hit play on the sublime performance below and catch Common headlining on Saturday, June 23rd!
